This is a special First Wings edition! With Cross The Pond around the corner, an Oceanic First Wings flight will be held, aimed at pilots with no oceanic flying experience.
Scandinavian and Canadian controllers are teaming up, staffing Keflavík (BIKF), Halifax (CYHZ), and the Atlantic inbetween, on Sunday 11th September. Depart Iceland between 15 and 18 UTC, and hop over the Atlantic towards Canada.
Please note this is a one-directional flight. Departures will only be from Keflavík, and will run only until 18 UTC. Please book a slot and be ready to depart at the slot time. Pilots without slots can, and will, be delayed.
Pilots participating in this edition are expected to have a base knowledge of flying with ATC, and to read the provided Oceanic procedures material.
Both before and during the event experienced and patient controllers and pilots will be on the VATSIM Discord to help answer any questions you have. You may join the discord through https://community.vatsim.net/.
For pilots new and inexperienced to the network, please consider flying the US - Canada flight on Saturday the 10th instead.
